The WUHC Healthcare Scholars Program is a selective program that seeks to cultivate interest in the healthcare field among a passionate cohort of Philadelphia high school students. The program is 7 weeks. Sessions are on Saturday afternoons, during which students learn about the various elements of the healthcare system, from the role of providers to the dilemmas faced by policymakers. Students will also learn how to read scientific literature; each week will have two readings about the topic, one of which will be a research paper in the field.
The program is run by the WUHC Impact team. WUHC Impact is a committee of the Wharton Undergraduate Healthcare Club, Penn’s premier healthcare club. Currently, the committee is focused on increasing WUHC’s engagement with the greater Philadelphia community.
