MEET OUR TEAM

MICHELLE FANG
Michelle is a junior studying Health and Societies and Data Science. She is very interested in health policy and system reform, as well as the social determinants of health and how to address structural inequities that perpetuate health disparities. Outside of WUHC, she has enjoyed working at CHOP's Center for Autism Research, volunteering with Penn's Center for Public Health Initiatives, and working with students at Paul Robeson High School as a Silverman Fellow. She also loves swimming, bildungsroman novels, and alternative R&B!

ANDREW KIM
Andrew is a freshman in the Nursing and Healthcare Management Program, studying nursing and economics. He is passionate about health outcomes research, healthcare innovation, and volunteering. Outside of WUHC, Andrew enjoys doing mixed martial arts, exploring the city, and trying new foods!

ANISHA DEVAS
Anisha is a junior in the Wharton concentrating in Health Care Management and minoring in Biology. She enjoys the intersections of business, policy, and healthcare and hopes to make meaningful reform in the US healthcare system during her career. During the past two years in WUHC Impact, she has thoroughly enjoyed designing new curricula and teaching high school students from the Philadelphia area. Outside of WUHC, she enjoys A cappella singing, photography, and working with the pediatric cancer foundation, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation!

CLAUDIA HEJAZI-GARCIA
Claudia is a junior studying Neuroscience and Healthcare Management at Penn. She is passionate about the opportunity to make a difference regarding the economic and social disparities in healthcare for underrepresented minority communities. Outside of WUHC, she loves to play the violin, participating in tissue engineering research at CHOP, and watching the latest true crime documentary on Netflix.

VASU SHANDAR
Vasu is a freshman in the Life Sciences and Management Program studying Biology and Economics. Her interest in the healthcare industry are mainly focused in education and combatting healthcare inequities. Vasu is also involved with consulting and research on campus and in her free time she loves exploring the city and trying new foods!

AARON ANANDARAJAH
Aaron is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences studying neuroscience with a minor in healthcare management. He is interested in learning about public health policy and the intersection of healthcare with the economic sector. Outside of WUHC, Aaron is part of the Penn Neuroscience Society, MedLife, and does research. Aaron also loves playing soccer, basketball, and watching movies.

ISHAAN JINDAL
Ishaan is a junior in the Life Sciences & Management Program, studying molecular biology and economics. He is interested in biotechnology research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Outside of WUHC, Ishaan enjoys rock climbing, golf, and trying new foods

EMMA GWANNULLA
Emma is a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Health and Societies on a pre-med track. She enjoys researching health disparities and social determinants of health in minoritized communities. Outside of WUHC, She likes to exercise and swim, as well as explore new cities and cultures.

SAMIR MAAROUF
Samir Maarouf is a sophomore in the School of Engineering, studying bioengineering. He is interesting in the intersections between entrepreneurship, biotechnology, and healthcare. Outside of WUHC, Samir enjoys playing tennis, theater, and volunteering.

SUSANNA LIU
Susanna is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences studying biology with a minor in fine arts. She is interested in the social determinants of health as well as education and engagement with underserved communities. Outside of WUHC, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and exploring the Philly art/food scene!
